When a sideswipe runs through the company name

Damage through business lettering has several layers: the graphic, the paint below it and sometimes the body panel. A new decal can cover the area without correcting a dent underneath. Replacing the panel or repairing its shape comes first; refinishing and replacement markings complete the visible repair.

A logo may span the sliding door and fixed side panel, while a phone number or unit identifier sits farther back. The body repair area and the graphic replacement area may therefore differ. Both need to be identified if the van is to return with its markings complete.

Matching white paint and replacing aged vinyl

Even a plain white van requires color matching. The existing finish can differ from a standard formula because of weathering, previous repairs or manufacturing variation. Paint blending may extend into an adjoining area to soften the transition between the existing finish and the new color.

Graphics have a separate matching problem. New vinyl can differ from material that has faded or changed gloss outdoors; film batches can also vary. Replacing a larger graphic section may produce a more consistent appearance than patching a small mark. The film, design and condition determine the options.

The same lettering, layout and business details

The existing artwork is the most useful starting point for replacement graphics. A photograph shows placement, but the production file carries the logo proportions, lettering and layout. The correct phone number, web address and unit number matter as much as the color.
